History...

Rod da Rosa and Chris McDonald are a London based songwriting team who have spent 2011 collaborating with some of the finest new British artists on the scene. As musicians with over 12 years writing and recording experience they are completely enthused by the creative process that goes with making a good song great.

"We're inspired by trying to capture the feelings and emotions within a song where simplicity and melody are key - it's a traditional and classic approach to songwriting. There's a reason why 50 years later a Motown track, for example, can still give you that feeling of when you first heard it and it sounds fantastic - great songs are timeless."

Previous writing sessions include Ria Ritchie (EMI) who's been in with Plan B, co-writes with Dee Adams (Newton Faulkner), Dena Latoya (Logan Media), Sinnead Quinn (Fame Academy), Tiffany Page (Mercury) and many more including the fantastic, Liam Bailey (Polydor). His last single ('It's Not The Same') was co-written with Chris and it became a radio hit over in the US:

"'I love this - it's fantastic, proper, modern soul music with a very, very good grasp of [it's] heritage" - ZANE LOWE, 2011

Rod and Chris love being top-line writers but as singers who can produce, arrange and play a number of different instruments then they equally enjoy playing on and producing a finished track - it's all part of the creative process. They've both written and recorded their own albums with some top producer/engineers including Phill Brown (Bob Marley, Rolling Stones), Calum MacColl and George Shilling (Primal Scream) as well as writing music that's been used worldwide for film and TV including MTV and SKY Sports.

"We absolutely love what we do and it's really inspiring to work with new talented artists, producers and songwriters. You always learn something new either about music, people or life and you never know on each session what you're going to come up with - that for us is pretty exciting!"
